MARY (FLORENCE) FINLAYSON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary (Florence) Finlayson on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 at the age of 70, in Winnipeg, MB, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James, of 53 years; daughters, Karen, Carol (Larry); sons, Brian, Jim (Linda) David, Jerry; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter Judy; her mother Bertha and father Frank and sister Florida. Florence was born in Winnipeg, MB on December 17, 1934. That is where she met James and they married on Mother's Day, May 13, 1952. They moved to B.C. where they lived for a short time, before returning to Winnipeg. Florence had a great sense of humour and a love of socializing, she bonded deeply with many young and old as she had an amazing gift of touching the very heart of a person. She was very friendly and outgoing, who tried to keep everyone happy all the time. We would like to express our deepest appreciation to everyone who cared for Mom through her illness, especially Dr. Fatoye and Angela Bachinski for their compassionate and caring way. In keeping with her wishes, visitation will be offered on Monday, October 17 from 7:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. The family will then have a Graveside Service on Tuesday, October 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Brookside Cemetery. Donations may be made in Florence's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg MB R3E 0V9. We know Mom is at peace, she will live forever in our hearts with our memories.
