PHILIP SOUTHALL Suddenly on October 23, 2005 at the Victoria Hospital, Phil went to be with his Lord. Phil was born on March 22, 1920 in Bowsman MB. Early on his family moved to Sioux Lookout, ON where he spent the remainder of his youth. During The Second World War Phil served overseas with the RCAF. Following the war Phil joined the Canadian National Railways as a trainman/conductor where he remained until retiring in 1985. Phil met the love of his life, Gwen, at Elim Chapel where they were married in 1954. Phil was a very active member at Elim, and dedicated many hours of service to the church. Through his long illness, Phil displayed great courage and never lost his jovial approach to life or his kind, caring spirit. Phil is survived by his cherished wife Gwen, son Randy (Anita) and daughter Wendy (Bill). He will also be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Cole, Martine, Graham, Hannah and Ryan. Phil is also survived by his brothers Gersh (Della), Bob, and John (Bea) along with his sister Maisie, and many nieces and nephews. Phil was predeceased by his parents, brothers Lionel and Paul, along with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Ina Richards. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. The family would like to express their appreciation and thanks to the Winnipeg Fire and Paramedic Service and Emergency staff at the Victoria Hospital for their compassion and assistance. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Bible Explorers, Winnipeg, MB. Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway 783-7211 Death separates us for a time; Christ will reunite us forever.
