Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKEITH ERWIN LAFRENIERE It is with great sadness, we the family, announce the sudden passing of Keith, on November 12, 2005. Predeceased by his father Joseph Lafreniere, on May 12, 2005, Keith has left his family in steadfast grief. He leaves to mourn his mother May Lafreniere, brother Glen, two sisters, Donna (Larry) Lashek and Laura (Randy) Gmiterek. He was also deeply loved by his four nephews, Kelvin and Derek Lashek (Cheryl) and Nicholas and Jesse (Kid Child) Gmiterek. Keith has also touched the hearts of many, leaving behind extended Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and numerous friends. Keith was born on January 29, 1951, in Atikokan, ON. Later, his family moved to Beausejour, MB, where he resided until this day. Keith had a great love for hunting, fishing, and all activity outdoors. The forest of the Agassiz could have been said to be his second home. After a winter of ice fishing, he could hardly wait for spring melt, to take to lakes of Nopiming Park with his boat. Open season of any hunt was a day he anxiously awaited. He took great pride in his moose shack, from the Canadian flag he mounted on the roof to all the luxuries of home inside. Keith will be greatly missed by his hunting gang, especially his friend Don Kamarus, of whom he shared numerous outdoor adventures, to the day of his departure. He left us all gracefully, within his dream, in the peaceful and enchanted forest, he called his home. Keith was also a man of adventure who loved to be our leader. He led us down many toboggan trails, ski hills and hidden roads. He enjoyed his many travels, where there was many unforgotten and detailed stories. In 1989, he travelled to Alaska to work in the gold mine and brought home a piece of his adventure in many photos. He loved his art of photography. Later, Keith began work for R.M. of Springfield with his boss and loyal friend Rodney Cook. It was there where he worked as a grader operator. He loved his job and his friends that he had made within his career. Keith was a compassionate and caring individual who has marked the hearts of many. He was a kind and loving son, brother, and uncle. He provided well for their needs and without regret. He was their stature of life and the golden clasp in their precious family chain. It will take endless time for all hearts to heal and to move forward into a future, that will never be the same. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. The family and friends of Keith, would like to express our deepest appreciation to all those who served in the search effort of his recovery. The numerous volunteers from the many towns, both within the Search and Rescue Team and beyond them. Your compassion, comfort and care, will never be forgotten.
