Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLINDA ROSE SHIELDS 1948-2005 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother, sister and aunt on Monday, November 21, 2005 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Linda passed away at the Grace Hospice the same way she fought her disease, with dignity and courage, her sisters at her side. Linda leaves to mourn her son Jim Torz; stepson David Torz; sisters and brothers, Marlene Henley (Diane), Jim Shields, (Debbie), Dan Shields (Colleen), Debbi Shields (Jacques). Linda also leaves her nephews and nieces, Jason, Jennifer, Kelly and Megan. Linda will be missed very much by her beloved cat and companion, CeeCee. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Charlie Shields (1991) and Eleane Shields (2002), leaving Linda to be the family matriarch. She continued the family tradition of pizza nights. Linda moved to Winnipeg with her family in 1965 and made many friends. They remember her most for her sense of dry humour. She enjoyed meeting her friends and coworkers for lunch and dinner. Linda loved gardening and flowers. She had an immense love for animals, especially her cats. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Grace Hospice for helping to make Linda's last three months comfortable. She enjoyed them as much as they enjoyed her. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, November 24, 2005 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with interment and reception to follow. Linda, you will be missed by all who knew you. You were an inspiration. Irish Blessing. Deb and Marlene - my heart goes out to you both. I loved her and was sad I couldn't see her one last time. I'm relieved (not the appropriate word) her suffering is done.
