RICHARD DAVID STASKA Sadly, on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, Richard died at the Grace General Hospital at the age of 80 years. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Anne; son Brian; daughters, Colleen and Karen (Ron); grandsons, Brenden and Hayden; sister Marge Karpetz; mother-in-law Klema Happychuk as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Richard was predeceased by his parents, John and Minnie Staska and father-in-law John Happychuk, all in 1987 as well as brother-in-law Paul Karpetz in 1997. Richard was born and raised in Brokenhead, MB. He married Anne in 1958 and they lived in Flin Flon for a short time, then farmed in Thalberg and Vassar before moving to Winnipeg. In the city he worked for Eaton's warehouse, and then Canada Safeway until his early retirement in 1984. For years he enjoyed spending his summers at the family farm in Brokenhead, where he had many interesting stories to tell about the good times and the hard times of farm life. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 28 at 11:00 a.m. in the Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Ave. at Rouge Road with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H., V.F., presiding. Sincere thanks to all the staff in the ICU and on the 3rd floor of Grace General Hospital for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Richard's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E OV9.
