DENISE SOLANGE SMITH (nee MAGUET) December 16, 1925 - December 9, 2005 Peacefully, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease, Denise passed away at the Victoria Hospital on December 9, 2005, one week short of her 80th birthday. She leaves to mourn her husband Bruce of 53 years; one son Paul (Belinda); and a daughter Louise; also, her sisters, Delphine Lavallee of Calgary and Vivienne (Ken) Bicknell of Brandon; one brother Roland (Yvonne) Maguet of Ste. Rose du Lac; and many nieces and nephews. Denise was a loving wife and mother who stayed at home to raise her family. She loved her cottage at Belair, MB, and spent many happy times there, frequently picking blueberries in the summer or cross-country skiing in the winter. Denise was an avid gardener and bridge player. She played for many years with a group of girls who lived near our home of 48 years in Fort Garry. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
