DOUGLAS CLIFFORD (CLIFF) PINK September 24, 1918 - January 8, 2006 It is with profound sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of our father and grandfather at the age of 87. Cliff was predeceased by his wife Marjorie in 1986; parents, Edna and William Pink; brothers, Cecil and Harold; and in-laws, Addie and Herb Scott. Left with cherished memories, daughters, Brenda (Ronnie), Nancy (Garry); and grandchildren, Stephanie and Scott. Cliff was blessed with many good friends, dear companions and caring neighbours. He was active in sports from a young age; paddling, badminton and tennis were some of his favourites and it was through his involvement in sports that he met and married the love of his life, Marjorie, in 1952. Prior to his marriage, he worked as a pattern maker for Manitoba Bridge. After marrying Marj, he sold clocks and watches for The Bay. Cliff was a longtime member of the Wildewood Club, the Winnipeg Lawn Tennis Club and St. Paul's Anglican Church. After he retired at the age of 70, he spent time bowling and golfing, which he was able to enjoy until this past summer. He could often be seen out walking the dike, stopping to have a friendly chat with people along the way. Cliff enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles and meeting his friends for lunch. Fond memories were made at both Grand and Victoria Beach, travelling and camping with his wife and daughters. Cliff will be remembered as a kind, gentle, spiritual, hardworking and loving man who placed the needs of his family above all else. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the loving care given to Cliff by the staff at the Victoria General Hospital. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 14 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Paul's Anglican Church, 830 North Dr. (at Point Road). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cliff's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 109- 675 McDermot Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. You fought a good fight, we love you, Goodnight Dad .
