GRANT SMART Grant Wesley Smart went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 1, 2006 at the age of 32. Although Grant did not live a long life, he lived a full one. In his few years, he was a journeyman carpenter, a carpentry teacher, a wonderful husband, and a good friend to many. He enjoyed his hobby of fixing vehicles, especially when it gave him the opportunity to spend time with his friends. His enthusiasm and zeal for life was infectious to all who knew him. He faced adversity with a strong faith in God that enabled him to stay positive. He defined his life by the strength of his relationship to God and others. It is that strong faith in God that allows us to take comfort in the knowledge that Grant is in heaven with the Lord and those who love Him. Grant is survived by his wife Christy (married August 13, 2005); his parents, Douglas and Esther Smart; his brother Michael (and Tina) Smart; and sister Shelley (and Steve) Kirby; nephew Jonathan Smart, and nieces Jocelyn Smart, and Emily and Grace Kirby. The funeral service for Grant Smart will be held on Friday, March 10 at 12:30 p.m. at the North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church at 1350 Gateway. There will be a public viewing prior to the service beginning at 11:30 a.m. A reception will follow at Kildonan East Collegiate. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to everyone who has taken the time to share in our love for Grant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Transcona Alliance Church Building Fund. FRIENDS FUNERAL SERVICE 2146 Main Street 339-5555
