CATHERINE (KAY) LEONA SPALDING February 15, 1919 April 5, 2006 Passed away peacefully at Grace Hospice, Winnipeg, April 5, 2006 after a short illness at the age of 87. Catherine, or Kay as she was known by family and friends, was a native of Winnipeg who returned here 12 years ago from Toronto after the death of Bill Spalding, her beloved husband of over 50 years. Kay moved to various cities in Canada throughout her life as Bill's career progressed and was happy to make Winnipeg her final resting place. She always said she was a prairie girl at heart, and now her heart rests in her favourite spot on earth. Kay was predeceased by her darling son Mark, and is survived by her loving daughters, Shirley, Audrey and Laura; her beloved sister Norma Garbutt; and three grandsons, Christopher, Jeffrey and Josh. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26 at The Wellington Senior Residence, 3161 Grant Ave., Winnipeg.
