EDWARD ADAM STANKEWICH June 14, 1930 to April 14, 2006 It is with sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother Edward on April 14, 2006 at the Hunter Memorial Hospital in Teulon at the age of 75. After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Ed went to his Lord and Saviour with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Ann and his brother Joe (Ollie). Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Rose, their son Randy (Jo Anne) and grandchildren, Daniel and Cheryl. He will also be greatly missed by his sister Sylvia (Joe) Adams, brother Ron (Helen), his in-laws, Ted and Stephanie Dandewich and Bob and Phyllis Rogoski and their families and many cousins and friends. Ed was born on June 14, 1930 in East Selkirk, MB and grew up in Komarno, MB He met the love of his life Rose in 1948 and they married in 1950. They settled in Winnipeg in 1952 and moved to Winnipeg Beach in 1991. Ed was well known in the truck transportation industry employed with Fort Garry Industries for more than 20 years, retiring as a service manager in 1992. Even though he formally retired from work, his life continued to be full. Ed could always speak with joy of his bountiful gardens, beautiful birdhouses and countless hours with his golfing friends. Above all else, he treasured his family and nothing gave him greater joy then being close to them. As he grew older his faith in God deepened and he became a witness of Christ's love of other people. Prayers will be held on Friday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St., Selkirk, MB The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Winnipeg Beach on Highway 9 with interment at Holy Rosary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Stankewich, Kelli Rogoski, Lianne Brydges, James Rogoski, Ryan Lillies and Colin Dandewich. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Inglis at Assiniboine Clinic, Dr. Lipschitz, Dr. Czaykowski, Pat Gray, Margaret and staff at CancerCare Manitoba and Dr. Loudon and staff at Teulon Hospital. The family also extends a heartfelt thank you to Sister Cathy for her kind and compassionate care and support.
