MAGDALENA MAGGIE FILYK (SIATECKI) March 13, 1913 - April 23, 2006 It is with deep sadness that the family of Maggie Filyk announce the passing of this truly amazing woman who has left us to be with her beloved daughter Ramona (1932) and husband William (1988) and other family members and friends. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Sylvia (John Crompton), Reta (Ted Andrus) and Gloria Filyk; grandsons, Brad (Sheila) and Kirk (Sandy) Baker; great-grandchildren, Keith (Petra), Jesse and Jennifer Baker and Heather (Matt Weatherford); great-great-grandchildren, Ian Weatherford, Alyssa and Brittney Baker; and many other nieces and nephews. She has left an imprint on the lives of those she encountered and will be greatly missed but fondly remembered by her family and friends. We are so thankful her passing was peaceful and the family and close relatives and friends were given the opportunity to say our goodbyes. The family would like to say a special thank you to the palliative caregivers, doctors and staff on 4B of the Kelowna General Hospital whose support, compassion and kindness helped us through a very trying time. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Everden Rust Funeral Services and Crematorium, 1910 Windsor Rd., Kelowna, BC. Interment to follow at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations, if so desired, may be made directly to Hospice Palliative Care, Kelowna General Hospital.
