NATALIA CARMO de MELO BULHOES LOUREIRO It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother Natalia, on Tuesday May 9, 2006 at the age of 77. She lived the past seven years with, and finally succumbed to, Pulmonary Fibrosis thereby beating a five year life expectation. She was predeceased by her husband Manuel in 1998, and granddaughter Amelia Gurney in 1996. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her daughters, Maria (Ken) Brezinski, Fatima (Todd) Gurney, Natalia (Brad) Everton; grandchildren, Leah, Kenneth, Alexandra (Brezinski), Kyrn, Lucas (Gurney), Maia and Elena (Everton); and sisters, Refina, Fatima, Graziela, Maria Jose and families of Sao Paulo, Brazil; as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends in Winnipeg, Toronto, Brazil, and Portugal. Natalia was born in Lomba da Maia Sao Miguel Azores Portugal. The eldest of five sisters she trained and worked as a teacher in Sao Miguel, immigrated to Sao Paulo, Brazil where she married the man who would follow her anywhere. In 1961 mom and dad immigrated to Winnipeg to start a new life and their family. She was a dedicated wife, mother and was also a great seamstress, cook and story teller. Mom loved to shop, travel, visit and entertain. She was proud and always boasting about her grandchildren. She was always putting the needs of others before her own, an unfailing caregiver. Her positive attitude was an inspiration and all who knew her will surely miss her sense of humour and ability to make everyone feel at ease. The family would like to thank all those involved in her care, especially the support of the staff of GH4. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Manitoba Lung Association. Prayers will be said at 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 12 at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin Street North. Mass and Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13 at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment Assumption Cemetery.
