CHRISTINE MARIA HOOPER (nee EUNSON) With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Chris on Monday, May 8, 2006 at the age of 44 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to love and cherish her memory, husband Greg; children, Dylan and Kalie; step-daughter Shawna; mom Stephanie Eunson (nee Toporek); sister Kathy (Tim) McGorman; brothers, Rob, Ron (Laurie) and Rick (Susanna); nieces and nephews, Kristyn, Scott and Jaclyn McGorman and Samara, Aron and Nicole Eunson; mother-in-law Teddy Hooper; brother-in-law Terry Hooper; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Her dog, Casey, misses their walks. Chris was predeceased by her dad Andrew in 1999, and her grandparents. Chris was born on December 20, 1961, and grew up in Norwood. She graduated from Nelson McIntyre Collegiate. Chris was employed as an educational assistant at Polson Elementary and Munroe Junior High Schools. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time at the family cottage at Spruce Bay. She loved writing, ceramics and sports (especially hockey and baseball). Being a mom was the most important role in Chris' life. She was very proud of Dylan and Kalie, and treasured every moment with them. She will always be with them as their special angel. We would like to thank the staff at Victoria General Hospital for their care and concern. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, 252 Dubuc St., Fr. Lucien Roy officiating. Donations in Chris' memory may be made to the trust fund for Dylan and Kalie's education (care of Stephanie Eunson) at Cambrian Credit Union (255 Marion St.) or to CancerCare Manitoba.
