MAX E. ROER It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather, who died peacefully on May 17, 2006 with his family by his side. Max was born in Herzfeld, Germany, and moved to Canada in 1952. He married his wife Irma in 1958, and they had a daughter and four sons, whom he was very proud of. He is survived by his wife Irma; sister Paula Brade in Germany; sons, Lawrence (Evelyn), William (Arla), Martin (Joanne), Patrick (Kim), and seven grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents, two brothers, one sister and his daughter Marilyn. Max enjoyed farming, horses, carpentry and loved spending time with his family, especially his wife Irma. We will all miss his wonderful dry sense of humor. Memorial mass will be held on Monday, May 22 at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Margaret's Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Louis McCloskey officiating. Interment of ashes will take place in the parish cemetery. Very special thanks to Dr. R. P. Guzman of St. Boniface Hospital Vascular Surgery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one's choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
