ESME LYN SOMMERELL On May 20, 2006, with the support of her family and friends, Esme Sommersell's spirit left her exhausted body to expand her magnificent wings that her body could no longer contain to join the heavens. She was 66. She is survived by her husband Ivan; her two children, Necole and Wayne; three brothers, Winston, Ruben (also known as John), Johnny; and sister Janet. She will also be leaving behind an extended family of close friends whom she loved. Funeral services will be held at All Saints Anglican Church (175 Colony St. Broadway and Osborne) on Friday, May 26. Public viewing will be at the church from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. immediately followed by the service and a reception. Esme would like to thank all family and friends who were there for her in mind and / or body, and the doctors, nurses and health care workers that made her as comfortable as she could be in her final days at home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Emergency Medicine (Adult) Unit at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB. As new arrivals in Winnipeg in April 1967 from the UK, I met Esme and Ivan and formed a long-lasting bond that only death could break. Esme's health in her latter years was not what she wanted for herself. She is now at rest. Wish she had lived to see her handsome grandson; she would have been so proud of him.
