Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGAVIN GREIG It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather, Gavin Greig who ended his journey peacefully in his sleep at the age of 73 on Monday May 22, 2006. Gavin will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Ruth; son Ken (Jan) grandchildren, Scott (Crystal), Kevin and Kristy; daughter Sharon (Dan), grandchildren, Kerry (Travis) and Jayne; and daughter Caroline. Dad was born in Carnduff SK on August 19, 1932. He lived in many places with his family including Virden and Ile des Chenes until he settled in Winnipeg in 1950 where he met his wife, Ruth. In 1953 they were married and raised a family of their own. His first occupation was as a truck driver in the pulpwood and concrete industry. On June 6, 1953, Dad started a rewarding and life long career in aviation that began at Bristol Aerospace and then Transair. His career took him to Air Canada and then to Transport Canada where he became Superintendent of Air Carrier Maintenance and Avionics Airworthiness. Throughout the years Dad enjoyed many hobbies; driving his 1941 Packard, cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs, painting nature, building model trains and restoring antique cars. Dad loved world history as well as building and creating with his hands. He was a dedicated fan to all of his grandchildren and attended many of their hockey and ringette games. Dad was always there to lend a helping hand to his family and neighbours. He left his mark on the world with his artwork and in his woodworking craftsmanship. Dad was a role model to all those around him, kind hearted, motivated and loving. There was not a task that Dad could not do. In accordance with Dad's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. Cremation will take place and a private family service will take place. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME 885-9715
