Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFRANCES MCCOWAN Frances McCowan passed away on May 25, 2006 at age 95, at her home in The Balmoral Club Retirement Residence in Toronto, ON. She was born on January 17, 1911 in Winnipeg, MB where she grew up and married. When her children were young, she moved to Vancouver Island and from there to Whitehorse, YT, she also lived in West Vancouver, White Rock and Calgary. She led a productive and varied life as a mother and businesswoman and always kept her keen sense of humour. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley McCowan; her son Lance; her longtime companion Richard Stevens; her grandson Edward Lance Barham and her sisters, Irene, Nan and Marguerite. Frances will be dearly missed by her daughter Heather Barham; her granddaughters, Pamela Lawrence and Claudette Martin and her three great-grandchildren. A private family ceremony will be held.

I have known Frances a short period, but I remember her as a very lovely friendly lady with much compassion and a very gentle character.
