Remaining to forever cherish Camelita's memory are her son, Bunny; grandchildren, Brandon, Jade, Hannah and Natasha; brothers, Victor of Jamaica, Andrew of Florida, Panton of London, England; sisters, Beverly of Los Angeles and Marjorie of Winnipeg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Lloyd of London, England in 2003. On March 10, 1926, Camelita was born in Kington, Jamaica and immigrated to Winnipeg with her son in 1974. She worked at the Sheraton Hotel and was also employed by Child and Family Services. Her last employment was with Home Care until injury and illness prevented her from doing what she loved. Camelita was a tremendously generous and kind person who cared for the many children she looked after in both Jamaica and Winnipeg. She was always there to lend her support. In her spare time, she loved to do cross stitch, needlepoint and hand embroidery. Camelita will be missed by all. On Wednesday, June 7 at 10:30 a.m., Camelita's funeral service will be held in the Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish, additional parking is available in the Seventh Day Adventist parking lot located on Ness Avenue. Interment will follow in Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley St. Our family wishes to express their thanks for the care Camelita received from all the Home Care workers, as well as the nurses and staff at the Grace Hospital.
