Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER BIANCHINI-RICCARDI On June 4, 2006, surrounded by loving family, Peter died with the same strength and dignity with which he lived his life. Left with great teachings and wonderful memories are his beloved wife Joyce; children, Virginia and Paul and their spouses, Cameron and Milene, as well as the grandchildren who were the light of his life, Alexandra, Charlotte, Gregory and John. Born September 28, 1926 Peter began his life in Italy where he lived until his early 20s. He made the courageous decision to start a new life in Canada and his courage was rewarded when he met the love of his life, Joyce. Over their 50 years together they raised a family to whom they were utterly devoted. Peter's vocation in life was to raise his children to be strong, virtuous people who understood both the nature of God and the nature of the world. In later life, Peter was beset with many illnesses and he accepted each trial with strength, humility and dignity. No matter how much pain he was in, he always greeted everyone who approached him with a joyful smile and a heartfelt question, How are you?! We are so happy that now his pain is past and he can rest in the loving arms of our Lord. We will always seek to honour his memory by following his living example of devotion to duty, performed selflessly and with love. We are certain that even Heaven is improved by his presence there. A special thanks to Father Earl Smith, SJ whose presence at Dad's bedside brought such peace and love, easing the transition to the next stage of his journey. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Victoria Hospital (Dr. Penner and the nursing staff on Floor 5) for their excellent and compassionate care. A funeral mass will be held at St. Ignatius Church on Thursday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m. Mass will be preceded by a viewing at 10:30 a.m. A graveside ceremony will follow for the family only. Guests are invited to join the family for a celebration of Peter's life at 909 Wilkes at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
