BERNA DOREEN LALONDE (nee SLUTE) November 18, 1942 - May 12, 2006 Peacefully on May 12, 2006, Berna (aged 63) of Winnipeg passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Survived by beloved husband Jack Lalonde; daughters, Donna-Lee Lalonde (children Danielle, Nicole and Landon) Judy Lalonde, Marilyn Lalonde and partner Jeff (children Scott, Cody, and Austin), and son Frank Lalonde and partner Michelle (children Josh, Kyle and Julie). Predeceased by parents, Len and Myrtle Slute and sister Merle Slute. Berna was born in Darlingford, MB, the eldest of two children. She attended Calf Mountain District School and later Success Business College. She married Jack Lalonde in the spring of 1965 and resided in Charleswood for the remainder of her life raising their children. Berna was an incredible wife, mom, grandma and friend to many. She volunteered for over 20 years (often 3 days a week) in various roles for Teen Touch. Other volunteers fondly referred to her as the Teen Touch Mom. Berna took great pride in raising her four children in a very nurturing and supportive way. She unconditionally loved her children and grandchildren and was always on standby whenever needed. She was a very generous person who was loved and respected by all. A service to celebrate Berna's life is scheduled for Monday June 26, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Boulevard.
