PEARL SHUSTER October 17, 1922 - June 18, 2006 Pearl Shuster of Beausejour passed away peacefully with family members at her side in the Beausejour hospital. Born in Regina, Pearl was predeceased by her parents, Abe and Edith Birstein; her chosen daughters, Debbie and Judy; and her brother Jerold. She is survived by her loving husband Phil of 57 years; her daughter Wendy (Alan); grandchildren, Laurie and Jillian; sister Molly; brother Larry; sisters-in-law, Clara, Anne (Alan), Roslyn; and many nieces and nephews. Pearl was a president of the Beausejour Women's Institute, a charter member of the Beausejour Lioness Club, a founding member of the Winnipeg branch of Compassionate Friends, a member of the Selkirk Duplicate Bridge Club and enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. Pearl was known for her wonderful friendships and beautiful smile. She was a telephone friend to many people. The family wish to express their heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care given to Pearl, by Dr. Daphne Schmidt and the hospital staff. Also special thanks to caregivers Diane, Susan and Val, nurses Gail and Melanie. A special thank you to Lucille Chay for all her dedicated help. Service was held at Congregation Etz Chayim Synagogue officiated by Rabbi Balser. Pallbearers were Alan Daien, Laurie Daien, Laurie Cooper, Howie Gilmore, Gerry Shuster and Steven Shuster. Donations may be made in Pearl's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, Beausejour District Hospital or a charity of your choice.
