BENEDICTA NAGUIT SANTOS January 8, 1908 June 25, 2006 On Sunday, June 25, 2006, at the age of 98, a kind, generous, and most loving woman, Benedicta N. Santos, died peacefully with her close family by her side. Benedicta was born in the Philippines and relocated to Canada in 1978. The sheer happiness of her family was the purest treasure most dear to her. Her life's work as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend will never be forgotten and will always leave indelible marks in our humanities. Left to forever cherish her memories are her four children, Anita, Nelly, Ofelia (Francis), and Andy (Beth); her grandchildren, each one she raised with pride and joy, Angie, Bernadette, Glenn, Dexter, Gerard, Krystal, Kathryn, and Neal; her great-grandchildren in the Philippines, Caryl, Colina, Cyanarra, and Francis. Each day she will always be adored and remembered. Her family would also like to express their gratitude to Benedicta's life-long friends, her physician, Dr. M. Rahman and his assistant Naomi, her caregivers, and the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital for their nurturing and compassionate care. A viewing (lamay) will be held on Wednesday, June 28 from 6:00-12:00 p.m. at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home (455 Lagimodiere Blvd). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 29 at St. Peter's Church, 748 Keewatin St. Interment at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Reception will follow at Chapel Lawn Reception Centre, 4000 Portage Ave. We learned to love and to live with patience and dignity with our beloved Benedicta.
