Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALFONS GAENSWEIN The family of Alfons Gaenswein announces his passing at Oakview Place Nursing Home, Saturday, June 24, 2006 at the age of 93 years. Alfonse is survived by his beloved wife Wilhelmine of 46 years, his sister Anna and brother Edwin in Germany and many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his five sisters and two brothers. Alfonse was born in Germany and came to Canada in 1956. He was first employed at the Health Sciences Centre in the Stores and then by the City of Winnipeg Parks Department as an arborist He loved gardening and after retirement from the City his great joy was working his garden at home. Should friends desire, donations may be made to Lutheran Church of the Cross Memorial Fund. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Extendicare Oakview Place Personal Care Home for their care and kindness to Alfons during his stay. A funeral service will take place on Friday, June 30, at 11:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington St., with viewing at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Frank Bahr officiating.
