WILHELMINE (WILMA) PINTEA (nee GUTT) August 8, 1901 June 26, 2006 Peacefully on June 26, 2006 at West Park Manor Personal Care Home, Wilma (Mother/ Oma) went to eternal peace. She had endured two hip breaks and one leg break in the last several years and also many other disabilities caused by old age (poor eyesight, impaired hearing, diminished comprehension, etc.) but always carried on in good spirit and great determination until she finally ran out of energy. Mother was born in Blasendorf, Romania. She was predeceased by her husband Ion, by her parents Samuel and Friederike, sister Ottilia Laszlo and brother-in-law Kalman Laszlo. She is survived by her only son Hans (Shirley); and only granddaughter Christine (Michael); and four great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Vanessa, Victoria and Michael Jr. of Langley, BC; and her only niece Ilse Babletek (nee Laszlo) and Ilse's children and grandchildren. Ilse's many visits and help to Mother while she resided at West Park Manor were greatly appreciated by Mother and Hans. Wilma lived through both World Wars with its many hardships. After becoming a Displaced Person (DP) in 1945, she immigrated in July 1956 to Winnipeg to join her sister and brother-in-law and their family. In Winnipeg, Mother was gainfully employed all her working life as a seamstress in the garment industry. She always was quite independent but was readily available for family members and friends and often provided old country cooking. She also enjoyed travel and visited Hawaii, Arizona (USA), and the Bahamas. Following her first hip break she took up residence in May 2001 at West Park Manor. The personal care she received from dedicated nurses and other staff was greatly appreciated particularly since Mother was not always co-operative. She quite often wanted everything her way . In accordance with Mother's wishes a conventional family burial has taken place, arranged by Thomson Funeral Home. As a practical and organized person Mother had bought her cemetery plot in 1976 together with her sister and brother-in-law and she now is buried next to their graves. May she rest in peace. Flowers gratefully declined. Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway 783-7211
