RENE LAPOINTE Peacefully, at the Taché Centre, with his family by his side, René passed away after a brief illness on June 28, 2006 at the age of 89 years. René , a devoted family man, will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Irene; his children, Léon (Pat), Lorraine (Orval) Legault, Ernest (Patricia), Bernice (Alain) Séguier, Linda (Jean-Pierre) Bothorel and Claire (Marc) Sylvestre, 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Priscille, Irène, Véronique, Simone and Flore as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. René, a devout Catholic, will always be remembered for his quick, dry sense of humor and as a well-read man with a lifelong passion for knowledge and a keen interest in politics and current events. The family would like to thank the staff of 4 DE at Taché Centre for their compassionate and professional care. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 3 at 2:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.
