SHARON MOLLIE DENTON With great sadness we announce the passing of Sharon on Saturday, July 1, 2006 at the Health Sciences Centre at the young age of 52. Sharon is survived by her husband of 33 years, Neil Denton; children, Michael (Paige), Christie, Karly (boyfriend Cliff) and Craig; sister Diane (Neil) McMillan; nephews, Andrew, Stuart; niece Heather; brother-in-law Russ (Tessa) Denton; niece Pat Denton (Pierre-Francois); sister-in-law Susan (Nelson) Rowe; nephew Ryan; mother-in-law Fern Denton; step-mother Yvonne Phillips and cousin Pam Cottle. Predeceased by her son Scott Denton in infancy; her father and mother Jim and May Phillips and father-in-law Morrie Denton. She was born in Winnipeg on October 31, 1953 and spent her early years growing up in the West End and St. James - Assiniboia areas. Summers were spent traveling to England, Western Canada or at the family cottage in the Whiteshell. She graduated from Westwood Collegiate and attended the University of Manitoba before taking her first full time job. While attending the University of Manitoba, she met her future husband Neil and they were married a year later in 1973. Sharon and Neil settled in the Fort Garry area to raise their family. Once the children were older Sharon returned to work full time in the insurance industry, spending the last 14 years with Reider Insurance Services. Sharon traveled from an early age maintaining close contact with her mother's family in England. More recently, she thoroughly enjoyed winter holidays with Neil to various areas of the Caribbean. Sharon's home was always open to all friends of her children, some taking up temporary residence. Many of these friends continued to maintain contact, with Sharon receiving Mother's Day cards. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Health Sciences Centre Emergency; MICU and Liver Clinic for their support and encouragement. They would also like to thank all the family and friends for their support during the recent difficult times. Services will be held on Thursday, July 6 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. with a reception to follow.
