NORMA ADELE ANDERSON (nee LEBLANC) August 22, 1936 - July 3, 2006 Peacefully at her home, Norma, beloved wife, mother and nanny, passed away on July 3, 2006 at the age of 69. Left to cherish Norma is her husband of 46 years, William (Bill); daughter Shelley (David) Skogstad, grandson Christopher; son Robbie (Heather) Anderson, granddaughters Courtney and Kelsee; daughter Noelle (Dennis) Tayfel, grandchildren Dylan, Travis and Sydney; brothers Douglas (Karna) LeBlanc and Larry LeBlanc and many friends and relatives. Norma has gone to join her grandchildren Kyle Anderson and Ashley Anderson and parents Norman and Audry LeBlanc. Norma lived for her grandchildren. She showered them with love and affection at the many visits and sleepovers at her house. She never missed an Xmas or year end school concert. She also loved her trailer at Spruce Sands where she spent 29 summers. She especially enjoyed having her grandchildren stay with her during the summer holidays. Her early career started at the Grain Exchange before she stayed home to raise her family. She re-entered the workforce as the switchboard operator at the Selkirk Mental Health Centre where she worked for 24 years, retiring in 2001. She loved the interaction with staff and patients. Norma was a survivor of cancer twice in her life. She fiercely battled both times. As per Norma's wishes she has been cremated and a celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Pastor Stan Richards officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg. The family would like to thank the staff at Selkirk Homecare for all the wonderful care Norma received, especially Sandra for her caring ways. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
