Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMIECZYSLAW (MICHAEL) CHWAJEWSKI On Sunday, July 2, 2006, after a two year courageous battle with cancer, Mike passed away at the age of 85 years. Mike was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Helen, and brother Morris. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Yolanda (Tony), Barbara and Lucy; grandchildren, Athena, Alex and Allisha; great-grandchildren Natasha and Sarah. He is survived by brothers Sam and Ben. Born in Poland on December 31, 1920, Dad served with the Russian Partisans fighting German forces during the Second World War. Dad immigrated to Canada in 1961. He began his life here by working at CPR for many years. Dad later became involved in the hotel business, owning and managing several hotels including the Winston and Patricia. Dad had a great love of horses and nature, spending many summers at their cottage in Winnipeg Beach. Dad also loved music and danced away many evenings with Mom at UNF and other social clubs. Heartfelt thanks to staff at Riverview Healthcare Centre for the exceptional care given. Special thanks to Lucy Chwajewski and health care attendants, especially Lucy Rozmus, for their care and support. Mass of Christian Burial to take place on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, small chapel, 341 Selkirk Ave. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
