FRANCISZEK (FRANK) NANOWSKI Surrounded by his family on July 3, 2006 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Frank peacefully passed away at the age of 87, after a brief illness. Franciszek was born in Darachow, Trembowla, Poland on June 5, 1919. He married his wife, Antonina, on May 26, 1947. Together they worked as farmers in Poland for 19 years before they moved to Winnipeg, MB with their three children to provide a better life for them. Upon arriving in Winnipeg, he started working at Motor Coach Industries where he enjoyed working as a Production Worker until he retired after 22 years of dedicated service. He was a devoted catholic who never missed a Sunday Mass and had a strong faith in God. Family was the most important thing to Franciszek. He showed them everyday how much he loved and cared for them. He was the most caring man they knew. He always put his families needs and best interests ahead of his own and continued to do so right up until he passed away by constantly expressing concern for their health and well-being while at his bedside during a difficult time. He cared more for them then he did for himself. Franciszek leaves to mourn his loving wife and partner, Antonina, of 59 happy and joyous years; his son Zdzislaw (Ted) Nanowski; and two daughters, Wanda Pavlicic and Zofia (Sophie) Sydor; son-in-laws, Drago and Borden; daughter-in-law Barbara; and his grandchildren and great-grandchild who he lived for and cherished more than anything else, Tony, Robert, Sandy and her husband Cory, Nadine, Annette, Christopher and Cassidy. Franciszek also leaves to mourn his two sisters in Poland, Marja and Julia, and their families. Franciszek had a zest for life with many passions. He was quite passionate about his garden and yard in which he took great pride in and where he enjoyed spending many memorable hours sitting and talking with his wife and admiring his work. Franciszek also loved spending quality time with his friends, playing cards, talking and watching sports. Franciszek's sense of humor was admirable. Even during the toughest of times he always managed to say something funny and make everyone in the room laugh. The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank-you to Dr. Finlayson and the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for making Franciszek's last days as comfortable as possible and for the warm and kind care they provided. Prayers will be said on Friday, July 7, at 8:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 8 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with an Oblate Father presiding. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. Wieczny Odpoczynek Racz Mu Dac, Panie CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
