EMILIE LOUISE KERR On Friday July 7, 2006 at 5:30 a.m., Emilie Louise Kerr (nee Luschow) born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, January 21, 1919, joined her beloved husband of 55 years, Douglas Lawrence Kerr MD, who passed on March 2, 2002. Emilie went to sleep and just did not wake up. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Hans and Arlene Kerr, granddaughters and husbands, Heather Kerr-Vermeulen and Jason Vermeulen, Kathy and Vince Cherepak, Sandra and Blue Jay Bridge, and grandson, Robert Kerr; and her great-grandchildren, Carson, Maya and Jarrett Cherepak, and Aiden Bridge; her niece and cousin of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Ilse Hughan, and Will Klabow. Throughout her life Mom or Grandma (also known by her nickname Sid ), has always been a very active volunteer member of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Things Shop, the Children's Hospital Book Market, the St. Agnes Guild, and the Junior League of Winnipeg. She was an active member of Knox United Church in Winnipeg. Her father-in-law, Reverend F.W. Kerr, was the minister there for many years during the 20s and 30s. She loved to play cards and was a member of several Bridge groups. Emilie and Douglas loved to entertain by having elegant dinner parties at their huge round dining room table with its ten chairs. She and Douglas were world travellers and loved new experiences. Emilie's boundless energy, always positive attitude and cheerful disposition will be so greatly missed by her many friends and family. Cremation has been completed and she will be privately interred with Douglas, by her family at a later time. Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. David Murata, assisted by Rev. Bruce Roberts from Toronto, at Knox United Church, 400 Edmonton St., Winnipeg, MB, at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 13, 2006. May she rest in peace with her beloved. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
