Mom was born in Melrose on December 27, 1913. She met and married Joe on February 12, 1934 and moved to Saskatchewan. In 1942, they moved to Winnipeg, eventually settling in Garson. In 1954, she became the postmistress until her retirement in 1978. Mom was very active with community affairs and fund raising for the club and was president of the Garson Community Club. She was also a member of the Golden Age Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and enjoyed her flower garden, especially her begonias. Mom was also famous for her Sunday dinners, especially her chicken soup; her kitchen was always open for friends and family gatherings. We would like to express our deepest thanks to the nurses and staff at East Gate for all their care and compassion they gave Mom and a special thank-you to Dr. VanRansberg. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 15 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue E., Beausejour. Msgr. W. Cwieka, the celebrant.
