CATHERINE ANITA TROWSDALE (WEST) July 6, 1951 - July 8, 2006 With family on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Concordia Hospital, Cathy passed away at the age of 55 years after a courageous fight from complications of diabetes. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. Bennett and Anita West for whom she is now lovingly reunited with them. She leaves to cherish her memory, husband Allen Paul Trowsdale and two boys through Big Brothers that became her boys for whom she loved as sons, Allen Kauenhofen (Linda) and Ken Cyr (Cindy) and families; her sisters, Theresa (John) McCoy, Karen (Lynn) West-Kletke; her brothers, Brian (Joanne), John (Annette), Lorne (Debbie) West and numerous special nieces and nephews. Cathy was born in Carmen, MB in 1951. She resided in Carmen until 1960 when the West family moved to Transcona. She attended school at St. Joseph's the Worker School and further graduated from Transcona Collegiate. Cathy met her knight and married Al in 1971 and began their married life of 35 years together. Cathy had a special love and gifted spirit throughout all challenges and obstacles she faced over the years with her health. She smiled and laughed when times became difficult and always continued to look at the good that she had in her life ... her family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are as follows: Allen Kauenhofen, Ken Cyr, John West, Lorne West, John McCoy, Lynn Kletke, Burley Townsend, John Torfason. Following Cathy's wishes, cremation has taken place. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, July 12 at 7:00 p.m. at Transcona Funeral Home at 1800 Day St. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph The Worker Parish, 505 Brewster St. Interment to follow at Green Acres, Hwy. No. 1 at Navin Rd. We wish to give special thanks to Dr. Selamon and all the emergency department staff at Concordia Hospital who gave Cathy special and kind care. Flowers are gratefully declined, donations may be made in Cathy's memory to one's charity of your choice. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
