JEAN ANDRE JOSEPH DECRUYENAERE Peacefully, on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at the St. Boniface General Hospital, Jean DeCruyenaere passed away at the age of 65 years. Jean was predeceased by his parents Jules and Julie (nee Fourneaux); brothers, George, Arthur, Marcel, and Paul; and sisters, Therese, and Helene. Left to cherish his memory his two sons, Jean-Paul (Michelle), and Gilles (Joanne), wife Pauline, and his two grandchildren Rochelle and Aimee. Also left to mourn are his sisters: Cecile, Marie, Jeanne, Simone, Juliette, Agnes, and Marie-Antoinette, and numerous relatives. Jean (P'tit Jean) will be remembered as a kind, compassionate, generous and humble man, who always put the well being of others above his own. After serving as an officer in the RCAF, Jean continued to serve his community as a teacher for the St. James School Division. His interests covered a wide range, although he derived the most enjoyment from bird watching, photography, genealogy, and artwork, using both traditional media and computer graphics. The last years of Jean's life were marked by a renewed faith as well as strengthened connections with family and friends. He faced his final moments peacefully and with courage, knowing that his life was part of a greater plan. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Boniface Cathedral with Fr. Edouard Bonin officiating. Inurnment of the cremated remains will follow at the Sacred Heart Belgian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba.
