Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON CHURCHILL July 26, 1930 - July 12, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gordon Churchill at the age of 76 at The Pas Health Complex in The Pas, MB. Gordon is survived by his sister Ruth Matas and his nieces and nephew and their children, Susan and Robert Dunn and their sons, Michael and Mark; Carol Matas and Per Brask and their son Sam; daughter Rebecca, son-in-law Michael Nathanson and their children, Zevi and Naomi; John Matas and Stephanie Greene and their sons, Jesse and Eli. He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Sam Churchill and Fanny Churchill. Gordon was born in Winnipeg and grew up on Scotia Street. He worked as a cost accountant for Sask Power in Regina, and for the school board in The Pas. Gordon was always a happy and positive person at family events. He was interested in everyone's lives, and knew a great deal about sports, the arts, and education. He was an unassuming, gentle person who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was very active with the Elks throughout his life in The Pas. Special thanks to many people in The Pas who got to know Gordon quite well and helped him through the hard times. These include nurses, Darlene Jackson, Leslie Wright, Jennifer Duffy, Jacci Courtney and Marie Klym, who were there at the end; Health Care Aide Gaylene Harapiak, the staff of the Seniors team, especially Pat Lajambe, his friend Allan Ducharme, Occupational Therapist Patrick Cohoe, Dr. Mike Pinder, Community Service Workers, Joanne Mayuk and Tannis Campbell; and friend and Mayor Gary Hopper. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday July 16, 2006 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery for a graveside service. Evening Shiva will be held from 7 - 9 p.m. on Sunday July 16, 2006 at 424 Bower Blvd.
