GORDON AUSTIN WITTICK Peacefully, at the Riverview Health Centre, Gordon Wittick passed away on July 11, 2006, at the age of 99 years. He is survived by sisters Ethel Williams and Iris Beaton. Predeceased by wife Mary, daughter Evelyn, sister Fern Taylor and brothers Eric, Norman, and Stuart. He leaves numerous loving nieces and nephews. He was born at Niverville and stayed on the family farm until moving to Winnipeg for garage work, then marrying in 1932. He subsequently pursued several careers. He farmed, ran a garage, worked as an electrician, bought grain for Ogilvie's Flour Mill in Niverville, and worked as an electrician for Ogilvie's Flour Mill in Winnipeg until 1971. He was Secretary Treasurer of the school for several years and was on the Supervisory Board of the Niverville Credit Union for six years. Gordon will be remembered as a quiet man who accepted each day without expectations or regret. Funeral service to be held at the Niverville United Church on July 18 at 11:00 a.m. Interment of cremated remains will be in the Niverville Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Fred Douglas Place and the Riverview Health Centre for the kindness shown to Gordon.
