Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRONALD CLAYTON FINCH-FIELD August 11, 1927 July 13, 2006 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ronald Clayton Finch-Field on July 13, 2006 at the age of 78 at the Deer Lodge Center in Winnipeg. Ronald came from a family of 11 and is survived by his siblings, Edward, Jack, Fern, Lois, and Edith (Edie); his children, Clayton (Toshya) Finch-Field, and Rhonda (Warren) Sontag; grandchildren, Brett, Roxanne, Cassandra, and Devon; and his former wife and best friend until the end, Barbara MacDonald. Ronald is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Ruth as well as his siblings Horace, Reginold, (Reg) Berkley (Birk) and Gwen. Ronald joined the Navy at the age of 17 near the end of the Second World War and served in the Korean War as Chief Petty Officer (P.O.) on the HMCS Crusader. Ronald joined the CNR in 1956 and transferred to VIA Rail in 1978 eventually retiring in 1986 at the age of 59. In retirement, Ronald loved camping and fishing and was especially interested in astronomy. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff on the T5 Unit at Deer Lodge, especially, Barbara Tallman and Jim Green. At Ronald's request cremation will take place and no service will be held. Ronald will be laid to rest at the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation.
