TILLIE TROWSKY Suddenly on Tuesday, July 17, 2006 at the Victoria Hospital, Winnipeg, our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother Tillie Trowsky, nee Kulyk, passed away at the age of 86 years. Prayers will be held at the Omega Funeral Home in Portage la Prairie on Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Omega Funeral Home, Portage la Prairie, MB. Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Born January 3, 1920, Tillie was raised in the Shell River area, north of Roblin, MB. As a young adult she worked in Birtle, Sifton and Hamiota, returning home to marry Steve Trowsky. They farmed in the Merridale district while raising four children. In 1951 they bought a store in Verigin, SK, raising two more children. After ten years they settled in Austin, MB for six years. She lived in Portage la Prairie for forty years, moving to Mandan Manor, Sanford, MB in June 2005. Her greatest loves were her children and her church for which she worked tirelessly. Tillie dedicated 37 years to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Women's Association in various capacities including Treasurer, Secretary and President. A wonderful cook, gardener, quilter and singer, she shared her talents generously, especially making perogies and cabbage rolls for her family. Predeceased by her husband, Steve in 1982, brother John Kulyk in 2003; she will be sadly missed by her children, Shirley Kuharski, Kamloops, BC, Ruth (Gerry) Hay, Salmon Arm, BC, Pat (Dennis) Helwer, Victoria, BC, Bob Trowsky, Portage la Prairie, Gerry (Marilyn) Trowsky, Portage la Prairie, Tammy (Gerald) Klippenstein, Sanford, MB; grandchildren, Lisa, Tiffany, Trent (Pam) Kuharski, Monica (John) Morgan, Derek Hay, Tyson, Shane, Leanne Helwer, Matthew, Carly Trowsky, Steven, Jason, Serena Klippenstein, and two great-grandchildren, Aron Kuharski and Hunter Morgan. Also surviving are Tillie's sisters, Eileen (Emil) Klemetski, Roblin, Anne Cohen, Winnipeg, and many nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by her church family and friends at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and Sanford United Church. The family would like to thank Steven for his diligent concern as Baba's Buddy and Dr. Kinnear for many years of conscientious care.
