LYDIA KOENECKE (nee Kamin) It is with deep sadness that our family announces the passing of a devoted loving wife, mother and special grandmother on July 17, 2006, 8:30 a.m. surrounded by her loving family. Born May 9, 1920 in Hamborn, Germany she was predeceased by her parents, Wilhelmine and Franz Kamin; and her two brothers, Helmut and Waldemar Kamin; her dear husband Otto Koenecke; as well as her grandson Christjan Penner. Mom was a caring, nurturing, loving, generous person, looking after children all her life as a child care worker, as well as taking loving care of her grandchildren. She loved to read her bible, knit and go for long walks and bake tortes with her daughter. Mutti loved her family and friends very much. It is difficult to put into words what our mother meant to us, so we have found a poem that describes our feelings. Mother You can only have one mother Loving kind and true No other friend in all the world Will be so true to you For all her love and kindness She asked nothing in return If all the world deserted us To our mother we could turn For those of you who have a mother Treasure her with care For you will never know her value Til you see that she is not there To hear her voice To see her smile To sit and talk with her awhile To be together in the same old way Would be our dearest wish today. Left to cherish her precious memory is her daughter Irene and husband Reinhardt; and her two very special grandchildren, Stefan and Melanie Penner; her dear sisters, Waltraud, Hanni (Willi), Elfriede (Hans), Elionore (Achim); and dear brother Walter (Lizzy). Ein gutter, edler Mensch, der mit uns gelebt Kann uns nicht genommen werden, er l sst eine leuchtende Spur zurück . Rest in peace our dear Mother, our caring grandmother. We know you are in a better place (und wir lieben dich so ...sehr). Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 21 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the reception room. Arrangements entrusted to: Friends Funeral Service 2146 Main St. 339-5555
