Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAUDE ELIZABETH KEILLOR (BROOKES) On July 15, 2006 with family at her side, our precious mother, nana, sister and aunt left the darkness and pain and entered eternal rest. She will forever be remembered by her beloved children, Marie Rajotte (George), David Keillor (Gayle); beloved grandchildren, Richard DeGagne (Dawn), Sheena and Michael Keillor; great-grandchildren, Garret and Marissa DeGagne; as well as loving family in England and Australia; sister Gert Baker; brother Jos Brookes and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in Stoke-on-Trent, England to Samuel and Sarah Brookes. She married her handsome Canadian Soldier, Stan Keillor (now deceased) and leaving family and country behind travelled across the ocean to her new home in Canada. She lived most of her life in St. Boniface, embracing the community, its people and its culture. Mom was a very outgoing person who made friends easily. She loved social gatherings and was happiest when she was with her family. She was known to all as Nana . She enjoyed many happy years employed with The Hudson's Bay (Portage Avenue) making lifetime friends, Elsie and Audrey. She made several trips back home and cherished her family's visits to Canada. Mom was a woman of unbelievable strength and courage who faced many hardships without complaint. A marvelous Mother and Nana, who loved, sacrificed and helped her children in every way. The family gratefully acknowledges the caring staff at St. Boniface Hospital and Health Sciences Centre, the wonderful Home Care staff at the Villa Cabrini, Mom's special angels who called her regularly and the many friends for their visits and prayers. A celebration of Mom's life was held on Thursday, July 20 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
