HILDEGARD MINER August 8, 1940 - July 21, 2006 Hildegard, our Wife, Mom and Oma, continued into her next phase in what she called, The Cycle of Life. Born in Brandenburg, Germany, Hilda was the daughter of Otto and Anna Fuerherdt (Predeceased) and is survived by sisters, Charlotte (Alvin) and Eve (Norbert) of Germany. After 46 years of marriage, her husband Arthur will carry on without his life partner but will miss her everyday. Hilda always felt her greatest accomplishment in life was their son Ralf. Along with his wife Jill and children, Alexander and Connor, Ralf will miss his Mom terribly. Hilda immigrated to Winnipeg in 1960. Over the years, Hilda had several jobs where she used her talents of sewing, cooking and conversing. Hilda so looked forward to retirement and when that phase of her life began she never took one of those days for granted. It was then she started to live life to the fullest and to develop her hidden talents of gardening, music and art. Her favourite place was the cottage she and Arthur built at Wallace Lake where many happy, quality family times were spent and where memories of her will remain. Hilda was not ready to have her life interrupted by the diagnosis of cancer last July but, true to form, she faced her illness head on with a positive attitude, strength and dignity until her passing at the Riverview Health Centre. Hilda's family invites friends to remember the passionate, proud and strong woman she was by joining them to celebrate her life on Tuesday, July 25 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. The family respectfully declines flowers but requests that should you so choose, a donation be made in Hilda's memory to CancerCare Manitoba. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: E.J. COUTU CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 680 Archibald St. 253-5086
