JOAN LINDSAY DRAPER Passed away peacefully on Friday evening, July 21, 2006 at Luther Home in Winnipeg, in her 90th year. Survived by brother, David Thomson in Perthshire, Scotland, Joyce Draper and family (Victoria, BC), Peter Draper and family (England). Fondly remembered by Judy, Laurie, and Shirley Richardson. Predeceased by husband Carter Draper, stepson Clive Draper, and dear companion of many years, Doug Wilson. Joan was born in Lanark, Scotland and raised in Scotland and England, where she was educated in Domestic Science, specializing in Diet as a Dietician. She served as a WREN in the Royal Naval Service, 1942-1946. She came to Canada with her husband, Carter in 1950, and became a Canadian citizen in 1958. Joan worked as a Dietician at Victoria Hospital, and at City of Winnipeg Social Services. Thank you to the staff at Luther Home, and to Stan Richardson and Shirley Richardson for their care and assistance. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service and reception will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 1:00 p.m., at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
