ELISABETH SIMONNE FEYS (nee DEGRAER) It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Elisabeth Feys, at Tachè Centre on July 23, 2006. Elisabeth was born in Belgium, West Vlaanderen in 1918. The second youngest of six children, she immigrated to Canada in 1957 with her husband and three children. After a year and a half in Canada, they lost one of their children, a twin son, a heavy cross which she would bear for the rest of her life. She resided in Montreal for eight years, a time which she enjoyed greatly. Mom enjoyed spending time in her garden, reading and she was also a professional seamstress. Elisabeth was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1990. She leaves to mourn her daughter Greta Latham (Sheldon); son Walter Feys (Levica); grandchildren, Karin Wachal (David), Ian Feys (Sheila), Patrick Feys, Candace Latham and Kurtis Latham (Nicole); great-granddaughter Jordyn. Left to cherish her memory are her sister and a brother in Belgium, nieces and nephews. A sincere thank you to all the staff at Tachè Centre, 4 ABC, for their professional and outstanding care. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East and Navin Road with Rev. Fr. John Mostivsky presiding. Viewing half hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6, or the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 4G2.
