ETHEL BJORG HALLDORSON Peacefully, on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Lions Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie, Ethel Bjorg Halldorson of Portage la Prairie passed away at the age of 95 years. A graveside service will be held at the Big Point Cemetery, Langruth, MB on Saturday, July 29 at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Cargo officiating. Bjorg was born on June 17, 1910 the eldest daughter of Jonina and Bjorn Halldorson at Westbourne, MB. At a young age she moved with her family to Langruth where she was raised and received her education. As the eldest daughter, she became a second mother to her younger siblings. She worked at several jobs eventually moving to Ottawa where she worked for the Federal Government as a Civil Servant. Bjorg's family and friends were the most important part of her life. She enjoyed quilting and needlework and travelling extensively. Predeceased by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, she leaves to mourn her passing her brother Harold of Melville, SK; two sisters, Kristin Arksey of Portage, Pearl Forsley of Neepawa; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
