SOEUR IRENE DESHARNAIS, PSSF 1921 - 2006 On Sunday, July 2, 2006 after a lengthy illness, Irene died very peacefully at Mont Sainte-Famille in Sherbrooke, QC. She was surrounded by Sisters of her Congregation, nursing staff and her sister Amanda. She will be remembered by her religious family as well as by her brother Armand (Claire Dupuis), her sister Amanda, SNJM, her sister-in-law Gertrude Hamonic (late Henri), by numerous nieces, nephews and by other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her sister Lucille, PMSJ (1962), her father Ovila (1979), her brother Henri (2001), her mother Elisa Martin (2002) and her niece Monique (2003). Death reunites those who were separated and separates those who were united . Her funeral was celebrated in the Mother House Chapel in Sherbrooke on Tuesday, July 4 and burial followed in the Congregation cemetery. In Manitoba, family and friends are invited to gather for the Eucharist at Résidence Despins, 151 Despins St., on Thursday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m. Together we will share memories of Irène and celebrate her life.
