UAN JAMES (SCOTTY) LAMOND September 26, 1905 - July 29, 2006 Scotty died peacefully after a brief illness on Saturday, July 29, 2006. Born in Dundee, Scotland on September 26, 1905 he immigrated to Canada with his family in 1912. The family settled in Moose Jaw, SK where he enjoyed his youth. Scotty joined the Canadian Pacific Railroad at the age of 16 and worked there for 50 years until his retirement in 1971. His job at the CPR required him to move to Winnipeg in 1929. Scotty chose to reside in Brooklands / Weston where he remained until his passing. He continued to be a staunch member and avid supporter of the Brooklands / Weston Legion where he enjoyed the camaraderie of hundreds of his fellow members and friends during his 77 years at the club. Dad was a huge sports fan and was involved in coaching a variety of teams, baseball, hockey and soccer all in the Brooklands / Weston area. The friends he made through his involvement in sports were numerous and he cherished those friendships deeply. Scotty was predeceased by his wife Verna in 1980; and by his mother Eliza; father James; and his siblings, Ella, Helen, Bill and Sylvia. He is survived by his son Uan Jr. (Gail); sister Babe Cameron; grandchildren, Jason (Donna), Janna Neudorf (Darren); great-grandchildren, Keila, Brett, Connor, Hanah and Jarret, as well as many nieces and nephews. Scotty is also survived by his wonderful friend Ruby Scammell and her family. Dad lived his entire life to the fullest and enjoyed each and every day, always choosing to walk on the sunny side of the street. Gloom and doom were just not words in his vocabulary, In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal memorial service.
