Date of Passing: Jul 29, 2006
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWIN KRUEGER (nee COWAN) On July 29, 2006, Win Krueger passed away, surrounded by the love of her family. Mom was born in Winnipeg on April 4, 1921. She was predeceased by her son David; her husband Joel, and sister Anne Sohm. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Janis (Geoff); son Ken (Eunice); grandchildren, Colin, Kristi, and Ryan, and numerous relatives. Mom grew up in Weston, and she had many happy memories of her youth and the special times shared with her lifelong friend, Agnes. Mom married Joel, her beloved husband of 49 years, in 1947. They enjoyed a long and happy marriage, and had the opportunity to travel from coast to coast in Canada after raising their family. Mom was a generous, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She loved living independently and was always happy when she was cooking, baking, and entertaining family and friends. She had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed being with people; as a result, she took full advantage of the many social activities at the Betelstadur, where she resided. She was a dear friend to many of the residents there, and to her fellow worshippers at McClure United Church. Our family would like to thank the staff of the Grace Hospital Emergency Ward for their care and compassion. A special thank you is also extended to Debbie and Doug Small and Rev. Wendy Rankin for their support, and to Mom's doctor, David Lam, for the excellent care he provided over the years. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 3 at the Betelstadur, 1061 Sargent Ave. (corner of Sargent and Erin) to honour Mom's memory and celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grace Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3M7 or to a charity of your choice. Mom, you will always be loved and remembered. Special thoughts of you will remain with us throughout our lives. Your loving family.
