CYRIL J. FLOOD Cyril passed away in his sleep on Sunday, July 30, 2006. Predeceased by his beloved wife Pauline and son Edward, he is survived by his children, Margaret and her husband Al Schultz, Bob (all of Charleswood), Kathy (Vancouver), John and his wife Brenda (Peachland), Dianne (Victoria), Sheila and her husband Floyd (Richmond) and Elizabeth (Grand Beach), his grandson Paul Schultz and his wife Karen and very special great-granddaughter Kyra (all of La Salle). Dad is also survived by his brother Charlie (Hamilton) and his brother-in-law Ross Burns; numerous nephews and nieces; the Furlans, Morans, Burns, Floods and the Kellys; also Pauline's nieces and his many cousins, especially his very good friend and cousin Maurice Kelly and his wife Yvonne. Born February 17, 1918 to Daniel and Grace (Kelly), Cyril was the eldest in a close family, but sadly was predeceased by his sisters, Margaret, Helen (Bedford Moran), Alice (Lou Furlan) and Annetta Burns and his brother Pat (Kay). Dad was proud to have lived his whole life in Charleswood, except for his service in the RCAF during the war, first in New Brunswick and later in England, where he met, courted and married Pauline. Cyril was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Charleswood Legion, a founder of the Charleswood Credit Union (which later merged with Assiniboine Credit Union) and, prior to a stroke at 79, he was an active volunteer with Agape Table and organized many Red Cross Blood Donor Clinics. Over the years, Cyril received a variety of certificates and awards in recognition of his volunteer work. Dad valued his friendships, especially those with Jean Mack, the Sisters of the Precious Blood and Prima, his foster child in India. Cyril spent most of his working life as a boilermaker at the CNR Shops and was a strong union supporter. Dad loved parties and being around people, and recently enjoyed celebrating his 88th birthday with family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Hospital for their very kind and patient care. Prayers will be held Thursday, August 3 at 7:00 p.m., in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated also in the church on Friday, August 4 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Barry Schoonbaert presiding. Interment will follow in Assumption Roman Catholic Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Dad's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
