Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY GOLDBERG Stanley was born in Winnipeg on April 30, 1923, the second of Flossie and Morris Goldberg's four children. He passed away peacefully on July 29, 2006 at St. Boniface General Hospital. He was raised in Altona, MB and moved to Winnipeg in 1939 to pursue his post secondary education. Stan graduated from the University of Manitoba (B. Comm.) and the University of Toronto (M.A. Economics). He lectured in economics at the University of Manitoba before returning to Toronto to study law at Osgoode Hall. Stan settled in Winnipeg where he established his law practice in 1951. He practised law with distinction and civility for close to 50 years. Stan was an avid reader who enjoyed discussing world events and just about any topic of the day. He curled for many years (a former Maple Leaf Bonspiel champion) and followed Winnipeg sports teams his entire life. Stan's life was lived with grace, humour and style. An intellectual and a consummate gentleman, Stan was a source of inspiration and support to his family and friends. He is lovingly remembered by his siblings Percy Goldberg (Elaine), Eileen Tessler (Barry, late) and Adele Standil (Sidney). He enjoyed special relationships with each of his 12 nieces and nephews, their spouses, and his 19 great-nieces and nephews. Donations in his memory may be made to the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
