DARLENE ROSE TODORUK (COSENS) October 16, 1956 - August 5, 2006 Following a heroic ten year battle with cancer, Darlene Rose Todoruk (Cosens) passed into the loving arms of God on August 5, 2006 surrounded by her family. Sadly left to mourn her passing are her husband David; children, Billy, Bryanne and Harrison; her brothers and sisters, Edwin (Linda) Cosens, Patricia Rowley (Archie Thompson), Carolyn (Dennis) Larocque, Thelma Cosens and Ronald Cosens; adopted sisters Leslie Coolidge and Lorna Theriault (Dennis Leschyshyn); sisters-in-law Sharon (Michael) Campbell, Michelle (Gerry) Orchard; special Uncle and Aunt Les and Millie Cosens; special friend Thorey Jacobson; as well as numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Darlene was predeceased by her mother Rosemary (1997), father Jim (2001), mother-in-law Barbara (2002), and father-in-law Nick (2004). Darlene was born and raised in Fisherton. She left home at 18 and moved to Winnipeg where she worked at various dress shops while she pursued her studies as a medical records technician. She worked at several clinics before meeting her husband David and relocating back to Arborg. Back in Arborg Darlene worked at several jobs, the most memorable to her being her time caring for, and developing a special relationship with Marion Burgette. Following her time with Marion, Darlene and David were married and she began to work at the Arborg Medical Clinic. It was there that she worked her organizational magic and utilized her exemplary people skills to benefit all. Her true potential was realized when she was promoted to the position of clinic manager, teaching and supporting all whom she worked with. Darlene was loved and respected by everyone whose life she touched. Darlene was always a positive and fiercely independent spirit and lived her life according to one of her favourite quotes A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes. Family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Brandes, Dr. Sisler and Dr. Donnelly as well as the staff at Cancer Care Manitoba and the Arborg and District Health Centre. Service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church. Family invites you to join in a reception at the Arborg Community Hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the Palliative Care Unit in Arborg, Cancer Care Manitoba or the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church in Arborg. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
