RALPH M. BRIGHTY It is with deep sadness that the family announce the passing of Ralph Brighty on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at the age of 78. Left to cherish his memory are his much loved wife Audrey, daughter Janice, son-in-law Randy, grandson Christopher, granddaughter Amanda (Chris), and sister-in-law Sheila. He was predeceased by his parents Ila and Ralph, and brother Robert. Ralph was a 1946 graduate of St. John's College and furthered his education at the University of Manitoba in commercial law and data processing. In 1970 he became General Manager of Hy-Line Credit Union, and introduced new systems and procedures including conversion of the complete system to electronic data processing. In 1978 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Co-operative Development, Lotteries and Gaming Control. Ralph retired in 1982, and he and Audrey spent many wonderful winters in Hawaii and Florida, and summers at their cottage at Hillside Beach, where Ralph spent many hours fishing and sailing. Cremation has taken place, and memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2006 at Klassen Funeral Home. Many thanks to the caring staff at St. Boniface and Victoria Hospitals.
